Final Fantasy IX (hereafter FFIX) was released for the PlayStation on July 7, 2000.
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of this title, the ninth numbered title in the FF series, Weekly Famitsu will feature an 18-page special on the game in its July 24, 2025 issue (August 7, 2025 issue No. 1908).

The cover of this issue features a new key visual created to commemorate the 25th anniversary of FFIX.
In addition, a B5-sized illustration card featuring this illustration will be included as an appendix to the issue.

The special feature includes information about FFIX events and merchandise, as well as interviews with three creators involved in the development of FFIX.
They share behind-the-scenes stories about the development of FFIX, which was created with the theme of returning to the roots.

We also asked about the highlights of the picture book Final Fantasy Ⅸ Picture Book: The Day Vivi and Grandpa Depart and the record FINAL FANTASY Ⅸ 25th Anniversary Vinyl - Timeless Tale -, both of which were released to commemorate the 25th anniversary of FFIX .
