Comment from Yukiru Sugisaki:
Dark is mainly active at night, so I often used dark colors for the backgrounds of my illustrations. However, for
this illustration, which was also the cover illustration for the final chapter, I wanted to depict the two of them standing side by side under the bright sun.
The cover illustration for the first chapter of the series also showed Daisuke sitting in bright sunlight, so I thought it would make a nice contrast.
I focused on creating a sense of dynamism and painted it with a rough touch.

Regarding the software I use,
I mainly use CLIP STUDIO PAINT EX.
I always draw the rough sketches (sometimes even the preliminary drawings) traditionally.

- Points I focus on when drawing:
I value creating an atmosphere or a sense of temperature that makes the viewer want to imagine what happened before and after the picture.

Regarding the most challenging aspects of the artwork and the production period
, I completed this illustration in one go, from conception to completion.
While CG allows for endless adjustments to things that bother me, I generally prefer not to do so to create something closer to my initial feeling, so I
always have to convince myself not to adjust this part a little more.
As for DN, I tried to draw it by pulling from the depths of my memory as much as possible the feelings I had when I first started drawing it, so
there was a battle between my current self and my past self...that was the most challenging part.

Since the image has a brighter feel than that of EDITION88 Studio
, I paid close attention to reproducing skin tones and expressing highlights during production.
